Ollerton & Bevercotes Open Show 13th Oct 2019

BUDGERIGAR SOCIETY SILVER PATRONAGE SHOW

 

The show was a resounding success at Wellow Road Ollerton, retaining our silver status for another year. We had a budgerigar benched entry of 330 from a full entry of 404, a benched increase of 13 on 2018.

Many thanks to all competitors for making a great effort this year and we’re looking forward to next year’s show already, so we hope you are able to make it another winner for the club.

There was a good response from the general public who also braved the rain to come in and admire the birds on show.

We were able to have some notable donated raffle prizes to help us as well;

Elaine Kirkum donated 2 large sacks of “Gold Chip Bedding” for 2 lucky winners Peggy Norris and Andrew Wrotnocki in a separate draw ... big thank you to Elaine.

Club members Sean Platts and Phil White kindly donated 2 young budgerigars for a further raffle, these were won by Sue Ford – Ford & Swain Partnership (Sean’s bird) and John Gambles (Phil’s bird) -  John generously donated the bag of seed for the raffle and also ran all the raffles as well - cheers guys.

The judging and stewarding was efficiently worked within the timetable managed well. A special mention must go to young junior exhibitor Rowan Sutton who worked on many aspects of the of the show operations, it was refreshing to see youngsters getting involved, thanks Rowan.

Of course a big thank you to all the stewards, club members and others who helped with the refreshments and administration duties ... it wouldn’t be an efficient show without the management of Sue and Rod Clark would it !

All in all a very successful show – Thanks again to you all.
